Asus Eee PC with Touch Screen
We always wanted to own a ASUS laptop (yup, they’re the guys who built the Lamborghini series of notebooks!) but were always put off by the hefty price tag. But now, it seems as if they too plan to tap into the low price segment. Which is why they have launched the ASUS Eee PC, all of 7″ wide and weighing just 0.92 kg. With a 900 Mhz Intel mobile processor, 512 meg RAM and 4 gig disc space, it looks like a fairly conventional ultra-portable - but further shrunk by about a third! And oh, we forgot to tell you about its built-in webcam and stereo speakers. Need more for this amount?

The best turn-on about BenQ’s E900WA LCD monitor is its refined and distinctive design aesthetic. Its clean look allows the monitor to blend harmoniously with any environment. Apart from that, the use of Senseye and Photo Technology offers a variety of preset modes that provide instant settings for different usage scenarios. It also comes equipped with an in-built speaker placed on the bar beneath the monitor screen. The ultra-fast 5 millisecond response time ensures that the graphics and fast-moving scenes are displayed without any blurring. Above all, it’s also Energy Star certified for reduced power consumption.

We don’t care much for the green PC segment, as low power consumption usually means low power consumption usually means low CPU power production, but wait! Lenovo’s ThinkCentre A61 is pretty nifty. First of all, it’s so energy efficient-with its AMD Athlon X2 Dual-core Processor-that it only takes up 45 watts of power and can also be kick-started by an optional solar panel. It’s the quietest ThinkCentre PC ever, smaller than the last gen by 25 per cent. And it weighs only 4 kg.
