Of all the cameras we played with last year, the one which got us by the balls was Cannon’s humble IXUS 70. It’s a combination of a nice, though not extravagant, feature set, small size and relatively low price provided quite appealing and now with the IXUS 80 IS. Cannon has updated the aesthetic design, switched to a slightly different zoom range and, most important added Optical Image Stabilization. And yeah, they have even raised the resolution to 8 mega pixels from last year’s 7.1.
P.S. Optical Image Stabilization helps a photographer capture sharp images by reducing camera shake/vibration (common shooting problems associated with handheld photography).
