I wanted an iPhone bad, and was finally given, it is waiting for Verizon. You have a Droid and I am very happy with it.

The screen is big – bigger and thicker than the iPhone with pixels, the images are very sharp. The colors are great, and the screen is nice and bright I had a Rogue Samsung for about 10 days. Everyone raved about the display of the marauder. The screen shots Droid it Away. The touch screen is accurate and flexible, and very intuitive. About as good as the iPhone, but much better than any touch screen phone to others, I tried and better than some devices with touchscreen.

Droid The screen is sharp enough and wide enough for most web pages display – including one that is formatted specifically for mobile browsers. Based on this screen, and because of how the Android operating system implemented in the browser, Internet browsing is very simple, intuitive and enjoyable. Much less scrolling / panning. Much better than most phones I’ve tried Rogue Samsung and BlackBerry. The iPhone browser is also a pleasure to use, but the screen Droid is best viewed web pages to fill.

E-mail is very well implemented in the Droid. I already have a Gmail and Google Calendar users, before my Droid, and the degree of integration is amazing, Thanks for the Google Android operating system. But not all Android phones will sync with the most popular webmail such as Hotmail, and can also use Microsoft Outlook and similar programs.

The Droid is the quality is good, and the speaker is strong and clear enough to be useful in most places. “I get a little better reception with the Droid as with my previous Verizon phone, especially in places with poor network coverage.

The integrated Facebook app Droid is good but not as complete as the iPhone-App-FB, which has had time to more item to be improved. However, the application of FB Droid as good or better’ve access FB I saw on most smartphones, including BlackBerry and Samsung in particular the new Rogue.

One thing is very cool, you can easily import contact information for all your Facebook friends in the Droid Contact Manager, including their profile picture, email, phone, date of birth , etc. Then from your contacts list, you can press any name and with one touch either call, email or directly on their FB page. This is very well implemented and easy to use and takes the Droid Manager very useful contacts.

The Droid has very good voice recognition. I can the microphone icon in the upper right corner tap to the screen and say “Starbucks” and the Droid will see a list of the nearest Starbucks – and then I can either choose one and hit the number telephone and Droid will, or call I can not touch me the address and Droid is its location on a map and give me directions.

Like all Android phones, Google Maps installed Droid, including satellite views you can Droid and direction (from your current position or the situation) like Google Maps on a computer.

In addition, Droid comes with GPS functionality and can give directions, spoken as a Garmin GPS. I’ve tried and it works pretty well.

loading music and photos on the Droid is as simple as dragging and dropping files from your computer to a USB key. Droid music player is not that the iPod / iPhone refined, but it is easy to use and works very well. If you have an iPod, you probably have plenty of songs in AAC format. The Droid will play them no problem as they are not DRM copy protection (and most do not today). The Droid also plays MP3 and other formats.

The Droid is the third type 5 headphone, you can use it with headphones, unlike some phones that have a non-standard jack. To assess the quality of sound I heard the same length and the Droid on an iPhone. Using $ 100 + headphones, sound quality is better on the iPhone, but the difference is difficult to observe with cheaper headphones or through my car stereo. Nevertheless , the Droid sound quality of the game as well or better than any other music mobile phones, and I tried all
    few.
I have not yet Videos uploaded to Droid. But I watched the video streaming, and is very smooth, STUDDER-free, and is really great, the best, I’ve never seen on a mobile phone, including the iPhone and iPod touch.

The Droid has a 16 GB microSD card. This is usually 40 to $ 50 at least as go, I’m really happy that Verizon and Motorola for the phone. There may be tons of music, videos and photos. For comparison, the highest capacity iPod Nano also has 16GB of memory.

In addition, Droid the internal memory for applications and its own operating system, so your phone still does not work in the unlikely event that the SD card at all. (My Droid worked, even if the Verizon store guy not insert the SD Card correctly, if it is set up my phone and the phone does not recognize. Later, I used again and everything was fine.)

The Droid interface and operating system (Android) is not quite as polished as the iPhone. But it is always great, very easy to learn and very easy to navigate and use. As with most mobile phones is highly customizable (ringtones, wallpapers, placement of your favorite widgets and icons on your home monitors Droid), and the Android operating system, it is super easy to do.
    ;
The Droid has direct access to Android Market app, the 10,000 were Apps. I downloaded a few dozen. It is many years, but throughout the Android App Market is in arrears iTunes App Store in the selection and quality, and specific applications for both platforms tend to be slightly better on the iPhone / iPod touch as Android. < , br />
However, the Android App Market, much younger than iTunes App Store and is developing very rapidly. For the Droid, there were only a few phones with Android. This number is at least double in the next few months and the number of people who are mobile phones with Android will use more than twice that projected for the industry because of increased quality and selection of Android phones on most major airlines. All this is further fuel the rapid growth in the Android App Market. But even in its current state, you can find lots of really useful and fun applications for Droid, many of which are free.
    ;
The QWERTY keyboard is physically not as good as possible. The keys are flat with no space between them. But I’m not a great writer and I find the keyboard easy to use and pleasant . I also think that the button 5-way rocker switch on the keyboard to be very useful. But if I was a writer, I did not like the keyboard so much. So my advice is to try to go to your Verizon store and demonstration unit.

The 5 megapixel camera has an LED flash. I posted a dozen photos of the couple inside and outside, and find photos, not good for a camera phone, but far from acceptable, as well as a dedicated digital camera, and perhaps a little worse than the quality of iPhone image. The flash is better than nothing, but causes the colors to go. I have six images that I use the Droid to the customer images to “see” area so that you have made for themselves the quality of photos posted you will receive Droid. Once you have a window, wait few seconds before you can Droid to another, the delay is on camera phones and cheap digital cameras seems normal, but slightly worse on the Droid.

I have not shot a video clip with the droid, so he also could not comment on its quality.

Droid The first is 5-2 ounces heavier than most other smartphones, or I’ve tried. Sounds like not much, but you can definitely do not notice. For me, with the larger screen and keyboard easily justified in weight, but for some people, weight might be a problem. This is another reason why I would not suggest ordering online without seeing it before, and it is at your local dealer.

Everyone has different tastes, but I do not think that the Droid is the stylish phone. It has a sort of masculine, industrial look to it, I can bear, but I’m not crazy. But it is easy to change the background image, and there are a number of cases for Droid – more coming every week – so you can change the look you want to customize.

The only other thing I’m not crazy is not a physical dedicated call button. To use the phone you must press the phone icon on the home screen. This is a very minor inconvenience, and I’m fast enough. But there are some bugs people.

I would like the droid has WiFi, and I used to connect wireless networks at home, at work, and a Panera cafe. It is simple and works very well.

If you took the time to read all this, then you’re probably enough to save a trip to your local Best Buy and Verizon or justify playing with their demo unit concerned. Try the keyboard, try playing with the browser applications preinstalled or maps. Take a photo or video clip. You see how the weight feels in your hand. I think you like Droid, especially if we had not had an iPhone, but would not allow Verizon to get one.

I myself have many Verizon smartphones including the Treo, Moto Q, XV6700, sage, Omnia, Touch Pro, Blackberry Curve, storm1, etc. VZW Droid is the best smartphone I’ve ever used.
    < , br />

LIKES – Nice big screen. The touch interface files is done.
    – Full Exchange e-mail support, including calendar, contacts, synchronization and e-mail. Separate corporate calendar is cool too.
    – The voice of research is the bomb. I was looking for “McDonald’s”, “Home Depot” and the gas station “and found the most dear to my situation. I searched for “John Smith mobile” and made the call droid. I tried, even “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” and got the wiki. Lol
    – The Free GPS is excellent. The satellite portion is impressive. I wanted to buy a GPS, which has saved the Droid me a little money.
    – Contact Facebook integration is nice.
    – Attach PdaNet is available via the App.
    – the battery life is quite decent. I returned very well simply because Windows Mobile Life luster without the battery.

    Dislikes
    – No Send or End button. I much prefer to initiate and terminate a call with dedicated keys
    – flat keyboard causes of faults. The top row of keys are too close to the bottom of the screen.
    – I do not know how blind Proposal messages. I prefer a single keystroke.
    – When displaying the e-mails in landscape mode, the Delete button on the screen to the right of the Back button is. I deleted 2 emails already.
-P – I have to press a few mishaps when switching between portrait and landscape mode observed.
    – No height and zoom in the browser. Browser seems a bit slower than the iPhone and the Palm Pre.
    – Many operations require a few button presses extra compared to my old Blackberry.
    – Currently, I recommend the Droid to be people with a bit of geek in them.

The iPhone VS Droid a worthy alternative, but not sniff any iPhone user experience. Media synchronization with the iPhone is much easier. The iPhone Web browser, is still the best on any phone. The Droid Customization Capacity, Voice Search, GPS Free impressive platform similar development has placed on the ground even with the iPhone. The Droid, but still, the interface a bit more polished and measures to synchronize with your computer more transparent. Currently, I recommend the Droid for people who have a meter a bit more geeky.

    VS BLACK BERRY

Cha. . . I never asked to do much more than my BlackBerry news and make calls. And to this day is still better than any other device I’ve ever used. The case of sleep, keyboard, trackball and typing shortcuts makes the device more efficient BB you use for messages. The Droid (and iPhone) require more buttons to perform the same tasks. Heck, where can sleep alone, without a message, press a button to be checked. ;-) BOTTOM LINE

This is a great smart phone Verizon, perhaps the best. The voice search works very well. It is incredibly good. The GPS is great. The platform development Droid looks decent. I would particularly support the exchange Droid text. The battery seems Droid decent, but I know that after several weeks of work. This is certainly not as bad as the introduction of Palm pre-pre-include the life of the battery would be before your eyes. :-P

A key bitch I have with the device is the lack of transmission and end key. I had never been a phone that is not delivered to Send and End key. I prefer these keys felt by finding, rather than their location on the touch screen.

Another gripe is that many functions in the Droid several additional keystrokes for the same comparison task to reach my old BlackBerry requires. I only wonder if the mobile phone manufacturers always test the business people have their phone number. (I’m available, Motorola

;-) If you try, the Droid? Absolutely! BlackBerry users should hold on to their income, however. They provide efficiency gains in exchange for advanced feature is Droid.

    ** Update 10/04/2010 ** Here

The Droid phone? Computer? Personal Media Player? PDA? Navigation? It is all the above. The smartphone murderous Verizon has landed with a loud kaboom!

    FOR:
    – superb third 7-inch (480×854) screen
    – Tight Google Integration />
    browser – Microsoft Exchange Support
    – Good 5MP />

    – Google Maps is autonomous GPS navigation />
    – Sliding QWERTY

    ; keyboard CONS:
    – Device hungry swallows
battery life – touch screen is extremely sensitive
    – Bluetooth / Headset Voice is not available
    – Heavy (9 oz 5th)
    – Lack of physical phone / End keys
    – improving physical keyboard may
    – Short USB Charging Cable < br /> – microSD card included in the class /> 2
My previous two phones were the LG Dare and the BlackBerry Curve. Without much research, I went to a Verizon store on launch day and I bought the Droid Droid Motorola. disorders first in the pure joy turns. The Droid surprised me at every moment. Here’s why:

The third screen 7-inch, 480×854 resolution touch screen is excellent! Everything is clear. Finding Nemo I was transferred to him, and wow! When I pulled the BlackBerry car, big screen area real is what I miss most. I compared the screen with the iPhone from a friend and we both concluded that the screen is better Droid. My only complaint on the screen, it is extremely sensitive. I have a snap-on cover on it and a screen protector and it has helped tremendously. The snap-on covers around the screen with a little more space so that the fingers will not touch the screen. I used the original Verizon Screen Protector, but we recommend ZAGG. The ZAGG feels “sticky” So if I use the screen, I think I can more accurately when entering or purchases. As far as I know there is no adjustment on the screen, the sensitivity to change.

KEYBOARD I have a hard time with touch-screen keyboard, so that the slide-out keyboard on the Droid so important for me to origin. The screen slides up to about halfway to the physical keyboard to reveal. The keys are flat, just next to each other, with little travel and key backlight. It takes time to get used to, but I got good with practice. However, I can type at least twice as fast on my BlackBerry Curve. The touch screen keyboard is actually better than I expected. After several months of use I have essentially ignored the physical keyboard in favor of the touchscreen keyboard. A really nice that you tap the touch screen is AutoComplete. For example, when I write “Hel”, he is “Hel, it would be very useful, rather, hello …”, then you can simply touch the desired list of words.

CALL Droid has a very good signal strength and connection quality is also excellent at both ends. speakerphone is adequate as well. My problem with the first calls is that there is no line of dedicated keys and finish. To make a call, press the “Phone” icon and select the phone number or sort by contact. I found that to create direct links to screen. This allows you to dial a phone with a key symbol. I spent one of my 3 screens exclusively for direct links. Embarrassment second is that you can not initiate voice dialing over a Bluetooth headset “If you want to appeal, you must use the telephone interface. It is a big disadvantage, because I always Headset with voice dialing for local calls when I drive. You can still answer calls and up with a helmet, though.

Google Integration If you’re a heavy user of Google have already Android OS Smartphones almost a necessity. If you are not a user of Google with a hard Droid assimilate you. Gmail is such a joy, I have not checked my e-mail on my computer, because the Droid. Google Maps is fun and easy to use and includes latitude. Google Talk could not be easier, and heavy messaging sessions are tiring of the slide-out physical keyboard. Slide the chat screen to the left or right, you can change the chat, you can perform on several discussions with Easy! Google Calendar is almost better than the Droid on a current browser.

Droid HTML Browser The Web browser is Blackbery browser to shame, but is not difficult to do. For fun, I also installed Opera Mini on the Droid and uninstalled almost immediately. The Android browser is a browser to another, except perhaps superior Mobile Safari.
    ;

CAMERA Droid has a nice 5MP autofocus camera with flash and a resolution of 720×480 @ 24fps camcorder. Both are good. The camera is autofocus, but buggy. When I activate the camera, the area around the lens makes a funny noise and the autofocus does not always work. Verizon is preparing an update on 10/12/2009 by OTA and other such errors / address improvements . The camera is good enough that I have no problem with my Flip camcorder at home most of the time. Of course, both still and video camera Falter in low light, so keep your camera and camcorder for real very special occasions.

MUSIC I put in my Sennheiser headphones and hear HD280Pro enjoyed my MP3. built-in speaker also sounds pretty good for telephone. The Droid has a 16 GB microSD card for storage and supports up to 32GB is a class of second slow It would have been nice to at least a class 4 speed reading / writing. To play music on the Droid you can simply drag and drop, or you can use an application called Motorola Media Link. You can also use your MP3s as ringtones. I recommend using Audacity to a song you like up to 30 seconds or less at 128 kbit / s, to save space clip.

    802nd 11b / g Wi-Fi
Droid The Wi-Fi is very good and I can make it anywhere in my house with two floors and stay to take in combination. It is also taken several of my neighbors wireless networks. When the phone goes to sleep, it turns off the Wi-Fi service to save the battery. Interestingly, the Wi-Fi is theoretically faster than the high-speed 3G network of Verizon. Next on the screen, I have Wi-Fi is the biggest battery drain .

Google Maps navigation is something I never expected. The Droid is a beta version of Google turn-by-turn voice navigation application directly linked to Google Maps. Looking for a place, you have the Navi there suffrage. I tried it twice and it was set up! What should I do with my Garmin now? For me this app was the clincher. Just be sure to connect to a power source for long trips, because navigation is the powerful Quick Battery Drain.

< br /> MISC You can quickly scan thousands of Android Apps and search for them by name. Must have applications including Advanced Task Killer, movies (of Flixster), Pandora, and Google Voice WeatherBug. On the low side the Droid is quite heavy. Since I made the curve, it is very striking. Even with intensive use, the battery can not last a full day of work, you take a charger.

ACCESSORIES Accessories are still rather thin for Droid. A screen protector and case, a must for me. I have both Verizon directly. I finally cast silicone case of Verizon and took from the ideal event for Seidio. Then, I need a car holder, but the windshield mount Droid does not work for me because I have a case California and used, I can not go anywhere but the bottom left corner. I prefer to ride in the middle, so I bought a vent generic / glue assembly Verizon. I used glue to stick it directly on my dashboard. It works great, except that if you more than anything other than smooth terrain, it wobbles a bit. I can decide Bracketron Dash pad in conjunction with Kensington Dash Car Mount for iPhone and iPod . It allows me to rotate the Droid in the center of my dashboard mount and portrait to landscape, and enough space to plug a car charger. To install automatically, I bought the Kensington Car Charger for Mobile with USB port and plugged the USB cable that came with short-Droid. Voila! Droid A car kit for about $ 45.

    ** UPDATE 12/04/2009 **
I had my exchange Droid new, because if I was caught by one of the buttons and pulled away. The new replacement has Droid Rock Solid and the availability of more than two weeks! No reboot, not forced the closure App. Maybe it’s my imagination, but the battery life seems to be better when I went to least 24 hours between charges, unless I’m going to use GPS navigation. I’m still hoping Google will provide an update in the second Android 0th a Bluetooth for voice commands, but I do not see what should read in the changelog. I think the OTA update is also in a week or two. Also interesting to note that the version of the sliding keyboard and Droid not equipped with an FM tuner is rumored to be coming, but not a word when it will be available in the United States or by Verizon.
    < , br /> ** UPDATE ** 10/12/2009
I looked at my phone before and low and behold, I received a message that a software update is available. It downloaded and installed in less than two minutes and requires a restart. The first thing I noticed is that the unlock screen is different. The semicircle must swipe to unlock a single strike from left to right, while dragging from right to left, the tone has changed and has been done. Also changed the font for the clock. Also, I do not swear used to be a Verizon Wireless banner on the screen before the release, but it is now.

The second major update to version 1 0th was difficult to focus the camera. And what you know. It’s fixed! I also noticed that the Power Control Widget gone through a facelift. I do not really have other changes, as I have yet to make a call on her, I noticed only 20 minutes a day. Call quality must be improved to have as well. I’m disappointed they do not add Bluetooth voice dialing, but I was not expecting it anyway. Perhaps another update on the street, please!

    ** UPDATE ** 30/03 / 2010
Verizon Official information on the second an update is finally out. Pinch-to-Zoom is available in the gallery, browsing and Google Maps. New News & Weather widget. New Voice- to-text input. New layout 3D Warehouse. Wallpapers Live! Official support for Yahoo Mail, Finally. Night-screen mode in the View menu for the best. And some other minor improvements. No update bad . After a few false starts in a few months, the last date of 3/30/10 deployment today. 1000 users to update the announcement at noon today with another 9000 to midnight. If all goes well, it seems that other users will get the 4/1/10.

    ** UPDATE ** 04/10/2010
He was always there to get the Update on my Droid, so I did a manual update first to the second While I do not like it was not as cool as I expected an update. My favorite part updating, the new gallery. Now I make my photos in full screen and film it for the next photo. I used to hit an arrow keys to navigate around and slide was so much easier. The wallpapers have been living dull and even slowed down my phone so I continued to use. Weather and News widgets are great and I can not get the same functionality in other applications, it is not break ground by all means.

I was so on this phone I bought the first day it came out happy, even if I have seven months on my BlackBerry 8900th TMO He was All I Ever Wanted in a smartphone, at least in theory. So why did I say “ambivalent” in a five star rating? Well, the only time I feel conflicted about it was when I read about it, or thinking. But if I put in my hands, everything melts.

    The Awesome:
    * screen, screen, screen. Everyone raves for good reason. It is simply magnificent.
    * No need to jailbreak, if all you want, run non-Android Marketplace. There is a switch for which it has under Settings / Applications. This is the first option in this menu: “Allow installation of non-market applications.” Only by checking a box.
    * GPS – wow. Really glad that I did not intend to do in a “real” GPS, I had to invest. The voice navigation Droid is everything you want, without ever buying the updated map. Ooh – and you use the Google Sky (it’s free) – awesomeness to observe the stars.
    * Google! For me the biggest advantage – it is the power of Google’s development. These are early days with a major update of the operating system, so that everything that “there is not enough”, but will improve. People say that it is not as polished as the iPhone, but with an open platform Android development unlike Walled Garden, Apple’s approach, it’s just a matter of time. This is the first Android phone, Google’s developers have been closely associated with each step and it is a good partnership.
    * network – again, wow. TMO, where my environment is not 3G, gogo until a few months ago, with dead zones is such a relief.
    * Call quality – again, wow. I never, ever had this kind of clarity, I’m at a point where I want smart phones mainly because I try to listen, and hated to hear was, it was easier to communicate via SMS, email, etc.. also a very impressive speaker.
    * Integration closely with many Google services, with more to come – How to configure my wonderful Gmail ID, go to YouTube on the phone, and do not expect good things in. Google Docs and even vague to be connected * to the future .

The not-quite-as-yet /> The camera takes pictures in daylight impressive, but is struggling with an accent. The good news is that developers are informed, and a note indicates that leakage is an update on the air or about 11.12, which is received in the center of questions.
    * The Apps – the reason for which there are not many great, brilliant applications is how some of the most complex games, iPhone App executables are not stored on the memory card, only phone memory, so this limits amount of space for larger, more complex applications [Correction]. The good news is this can be solved through software, and you know, Google is working towards this competition. But there are many impressive applications, and consider ways to reject and criticize Apple, while Google Apps welcomes it is, it will eventually be a much greater choice. (Update: Facebook for iPhone App Developers, the project simply stop because that it could not be eliminated with the controlling tendencies of Apple.)

    ;
The MEH * Well, the physical keyboard is not the most large. A little flat, does not travel keys. But so easy to get a good part of the keyboard on the screen that it was not too much, and the real keyboard is better (and sufficient) for the hours You need to do more than just a few hits.
    * It’s heavy! The night I got it, I played with him like, eight hours at a time, and my hand was badly *. * Uh, well, maybe just not a phone for eight hours just to play your hands should be?
    * The battery life, what you waiting for? A device of this size in order energy needs. I carry a charger and an inverter in my car, and I do not have equipment more powerful so I do not mind, really.
“br / > The other reviewers here have done an excellent job going into detail in depth the different functions, these are just some things I wanted to emphasize in particular that most of what must be a mistake actually one area where Google Android shows a lot of potential. < , br />
I’m still that Media Dock also seems to be a wonderful addition. I too have the Motorola S805 Bluetooth 0 seconds (DJ Style) Stereo Headphones and they found themselves with the Droid very well. It’s really, really useful controls have Bluetooth when you hear the music, since it is a pain in the back when sleeping, the screen and all they wanted to do, it ‘s Songs skip or pause.

All in all I have with the Droid, I am not only for what she is thrilled to be, but for what it is – I’ve been through so many * * Telephones in the past years, rackets updates about every nine months but I I think it will last until I for “new every 2″ to qualify with Verizon – and then they have 4G. 4G!

    Advantages:

    * physical keyboard – small and narrow, but perfect for someone who often hit the buttons wrong with that on the screen. It is also easier to hold the device while surfing the Web. If you’re not a fast typer (as I’m on the phone) complaints against the keyboard is smaller.

    * weight – slightly heavier than the iPhone, but it feels solid and durable.

    * Easy to navigate – phone, with no instruction manual, but you can get with average computer skills to pick it up quickly.

    * GPS – still in beta, but works pretty well around New York with a car. (Buy the bracket, when it will be your primary GPS device).

    * Google Voice – built into the phone – seamlessly integrated, so that answer the phones according to various scenarios rather than Verizon minutes. (Which is automatically call using VoIP for international calls)

    * 5MP camera – this is not an image worthy of a frame, but more than decent for display on the fire.

    Disadvantages:

    * failure Tacky “Droid” settings – the phone starts with the words “Droid”. Easy to disable it so. The red eyes reminds me of LOTR. I only wish that can be disabled.

    * Web App is a little buggy, back and forth between Web pages. Sometimes jumps back a page or two.

needs * Multi-Touch (ie, pinch-zoom) There have been countless times I type in one and you accidentally click on a link increases.

    * Application Market Place is a mess – no skill (ie # downloads, evaluation), organized by eight major categories. A quality applications are few, but I hope to release soon. (Recommended – Pandora, last. Fm, Weather Channel, TV. Com)

    * Sharp corners – the iPhone is more comfortable for some time to continue talking.
    ;
    * The sound quality of calls is at best average. By far the worst phone for wind noise. A slight breeze will make a conversation unintelligible.

    * The lack of software for managing music – Extreme default bare-bones app to hear music from the artist / album / song add /. No easy way to sort the music. (It is similar to iTunes would be ideal) is not a third party application to make it even to find a replacement. More – there are third party applications to remotely connect to the music collection on your PC (ie the second Gmote 0), but they are still buggy.

    * Some sites are difficult to click on the links. (You do not know if the touch screen or website, but it is frustrating, no less)

    * There are settings for the base unit ( such scenes camera flash, etc.), but they are frustrating to use. (The Back button does not work if the navigation submenus. Each time you click on another category, you need to open the settings go)
